Application For Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)-Full Time, Part Time
Qualifications
A successful candidate must:
- Hold a current SLP license in the State of Texas
- Be a graduate of an accredited SLP program
- Have current CPR certification
- Possess at least 1 year of direct care experience within the United States
- Pass the competency test administered by Angel Leaf
- Demonstrate a professional and reasonable attitude
- Be a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
Responsibilities
- Evaluating, designing and implementing treatment plans, reassessments, and discharge of patients as prescribed by a licensed physician
- Documentation of patient treatments
- Education and training of the patient, family members, and/or caretakers
- Maintaining clinical education, licensing, and CPR certification
- Providing a safe treatment environment and following all infection control policies as established by best practices and/or the Facility
Job Description
- Specializes in diagnosis and treatment of speech and language problems, and engages in scientific study of human communication
- Diagnoses and evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors
- Plans, directs, or conducts habilitative and rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology
- Provides counseling, guidance and language development therapy to handicapped individuals
- Reviews individual file to obtain background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests
- Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests
- Reviews treatment plan, and assesses individual performance; maintains records as required by law, establishment’s policy, and administrative regulations
